Decoiling and Slitting

Decoiling is the process of unspooling wound material.

Slitting involves creating longitudinal cuts of a required width into a material. A width setting is configured when decoiling material. One or more lower and  upper shear rollers then cut material into lengths.

MD3 can handle various materials in various widths and thicknesses up to a maximum of 1.5 m wide and 3 mm thick. As standard, we stock various widths and thickness, especially in aluminium. This makes MD3 extremely flexible and means that it can prepare the disc or sheet material required for any product. The decoiling/slitting production line is fully computer numerically controlled and unmanned allowing faster delivery times.
